Synopsis
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a men’s Twenty20 (T20) cricket league held annually in India. Founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2007 with its inaugural season in 2008, it is the most lucrative and widely watched cricket league in the world.
Structure & Format: The league features 10 city-based franchises. Teams play in a round-robin league phase followed by a four-match playoff system (Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final).
